How a Visit Works

We bring everything needed to transform your hall or learning space into a train-filled play experience.

  • Schools typically choose:
  • Individual class sessions
  • Small intervention groups
  • SEND and nurture groups
  • Mixed timetables combining classes and targeted provision

We recommend a maximum of around 30 children at any one time to ensure everyone has plenty of space and access to the trains.

What Children Can Expect

A typical setup includes:

  • Multiple train layouts
  • Bridges, tunnels and accessories
  • Hundreds of trains & trucks
  • Opportunities for collaborative and independent play
  • Open-ended activities led by children’s interests

No two sessions are ever quite the same.

Curriculum & Learning Benefits

Schools often use Train Time Play Time as part of enrichment days, transition activities, wellbeing programmes and SEND provision

Our child-led train experiences support communication, creativity, collaboration and problem-solving whilst also providing opportunities to explore transport, travel and how the world around us works.

For younger children, trains often provide a natural starting point for conversations about journeys, communities, occupations, maps, movement and different forms of transport.

What schools say

The children absolutely loved the play sessions and the parents were so very happy to be invited in for a stay and play. Many of the kids were disappointed when next Friday came around as they thought you would be coming back! The set up was perfect and you were really kind and understanding of our kids’ needs. SEND Provision visit May 2026

The children absolutely loved the play session – there was so much to explore and the set up was adapted to suit our nursery spaces. The session was inclusive for our toddler and pre-school rooms and it was all that we could have hoped for – opportunities for independent and cooperative play and a whole heap of fun.
